Right now, Colin Powell has just finished speaking with reporters, stating everything that has been on the minds of rational people for the days since the Republican convention. Stating that he didn’t like the way John McCain has run his campaign, he made specific note of how ridiculous it is to assert that Obama is a Socialist. Powell explained that, although he doesn’t like taxes just as much as the next guy, all taxes, new or preexisting, are in fact, “spreading the wealth around”.
He also said that Sarah Palin is not qualified, calling her experience ’troubling’. Colin Powell stated that he definitively does not think Palin is ready to be President. He questioned John McCain’s judgement on this issue and many others, citing the continued negativity being a major concern.
Powell says that over the last couple of months, “Obama has shown calm, steady, intellectual problem solving that we need in this country.”
Danny Diaz, John McCain representative, in reaction to this endorsement stated on CNN that Colin Powell doesn’t understand real issues of leadership and that the American people will see through this endorsement that John McCain is better qualified.
Furthermore, Danny Diaz, believes that he is more qualified to assert the value of Obama’s foreign policy experience than Colin Powell, former secretary of state.
It is now rumored that Colin Powell will head out to campaign for Senator Obama, possibly appearing along side him at various stops.

John McCain disgraces himself and us as a nation when he allows that bigotry to be put forward as part of “Country First”.
Powell is the last national Republican figure that many Americans still trust, and this is why.
He’s killed his career in the Republican Party, but may be atoning for some of his earlier errors by speaking truth.
