Small Government Cake Eaters

I can’t figure out where the robber barons in big business and government want to draw the line. They say, “The Government is too big! It regulates too much stuff, people should have to be self-reliant! Be responsible for yourself and your actions!” And then, when all of a sudden the people who they’ve run over and taken advantage of rise up in anger, threatening violence against their homes and families, everyone is outraged. Today CNN’s Lou Dobbs quoted some recent threats that were received by the AIG executives who to this point have remained nameless. While I don’t condone mob violence by any means, I can’t seem to understand why Lou thinks the senders of these letters should “be ashamed of themselves”. Furthermore, the newly appointed CEO of AIG recently said that he wouldn’t disclose the names of the executives who received bonuses. I’m not sure I understand this either. My Dad used to say the only reason to have a secret is if you have something to hide; the only reason you have something to hide is if you’ve done something dishonest. It seems to me that the big fat cat executives and congressmen are getting exactly what they asked for, deregulation and smaller government. While I certainly don’t agree with their rules of engagement, I think they should at least have to play by their own rules, right? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.

P.S. And we all get a vacation from Campbell Brown, no bull.

Top 5 Types of People John McCain is Banking On

As each nail is hammered into the coffin and each day that passes is one day closer to finally putting his ghastly campaign to rest, I wonder what ever other sane, rational person has been wondering, why are people still voting for John McCain? Here are the top five types of people that John McCain is banking on will STILL pull ‘Republican’ on Election Day

5. Xenophobic – According to the dictionary, those who are xenophobic exhibit an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange. These people fear any sort of change from the status quo. They aren’t racist per se, but they fear that which they do not know. For these people, Barack Obama is too far off the radar for reasonable choice. By running a campaign based on, “change you can believe in,” John McCain appeals to the rational side of this type of person which acknowledges change is desperately needed yet also allows the irrational side to be content with a more ‘normal’ politician. Everyone is a little xenophobic, but most people realize they are being irrational. By conjuring McCarthy-esque fear mongering, John McCain’s campaign has the goal of making it harder for you to realize the irrationality behind your xenophobia. A perfect example of a xenophobic McCain supporter would be that crazy lady who thinks that Obama is an Arab.

4. Fundamentalists – According to the dictionary, someone considered a fundamentalist is said to be apart of a movement in American Protestantism that arose in the early part of the 20th century in reaction to modernism and that stresses the infallibility of the Bible not only…

Golden Parachute Money Funds McCain Campaign

It surprised me when John McCain suspended his campaign a while back to ‘work on the bailout’ for AIG/Wall St. It just didn’t seem very Republican to me, ya know, makin’ with the spendin’n all. I gotta say, it’s been one of the few things that’s really perplexed me.

And now we’ve all heard about these jackass executives getting golden parachutes for doing nothing but ruining the economy. Both McCain and Obama make a big stink about how terrible they are, these ‘greedy’ bastards. Furthermore, each week a new development in the collapse of AIG surfaces. With all the pheasant hunting and spa treatments bought over the last month, it makes you really wonder when ‘AIG Gone Wild’ DVDs will hit the shelf. It’s crazy to think that these guys really give two craps about any of us. Clearly, when making choices, they act only in their own self interest. These executives, spending our money, our friggen money, on spa treatments; makes me ill. Who are these pricks?

And then I came upon a little website and on it there’s a few articles, one of which is about AIG and the board of directors.

Here’s a list:

LANGHAMMER, FRED HORST MR.                      $14,600
LIDDY, EDWARD M. MR.                            $4,800
BENSINGER, STEVEN J. MR.                        $2,100
FELDSTEIN, MARTIN DR.                           $2,000

Total $23,500

Now you know their names, but can you guess who’s campaign they donated $$ to? I’ll give you a hint, he’s old, white, and erratic.

And now it’s not so surprising why John McCain went back to Washington to ‘work on the bailout’; parachute money is funding his campaign. Let’s take a look at the implications and try to draw some rational conclusions. These AIG executives, donated money…
