Someone’s Gonna Get A Hurt Real Bad

Embedded video from CNN Video

This is why I love Meghan McCain so much.

Honestly, I think I’m in love. This could be very telling of my nerdiness, but seriously, how sexy is it that she’s slowly but surely usurping the leadership of her own party from the right-wing neoCants who’ve undoubtedly isolated all moderates in an attempt to revitalize the practicality of Republican politics. Look at the talking heads who she’s single-handedly taking on! Rush, Laura Ingrahm, Ann Coulter, Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, Bill-O and that’s just the first order of Satan’s angels; that’s quite a beating. Think about what they do to their ‘enemies’ and how much worse that murdering will be for a turncoat. Meghan McCain has balls of steel and thank the lord she does.

Andy Samberg has a video that pretty much explains my feelings right now.

We back.

In a moment of self-aggrandizing glory, I’d like to apologize to the twenty or so faithful readers who I’ve so cruelly deprived of quality commentary while on my snowboarding sabbatical. I have to admit, the brutal presidential campaign, combined with the subsequent and here to incessant, sore-losing neo-con determination to undermine any possible progress has/had taken a larger toll on my writing psyche than I had anticipated. Nevertheless, I too now have got the itch to bitch again, and bitch I shall.

Let’s catch up. I too have fallen victim to the economic downturn and am no longer gainfully employed. While still slightly unnerving, I suffer a fate not nearly as tumultuous as the majority of those in a similar situation, as my previous employer has generously given me enough severance to live comfortably for some time to come.  I’ve spent the time off reading, studying, interviewing, but mostly snowboarding.

My most recent thought about the political climate of the day is that watching the uber-conservative party members scurry and sputter in a slow motion death wobble is analogous to watching the Titanic sink, or a bunch of ants, whose nevous systems have been destroyed by RAID, seize and die.

Briefly, I look forward to the rebirth of the Republican Party, I really do. I think the door has been left open for a new party characterized by socially responsible, fiscally conservative leadership, in a way similar to what we expect from conservative Democrats. I look forward to the Republican embrace of reality, logic, and reason and the defiance of special interest, religious zealots, and the uber rich.

Lastly, I would like to re-kindle my love of Meghan McCain…

McCain Wins: Most Likely to Not Be President Senate Class of 2008

Nov 5 2008

Dear Republican Talking Head,

Enclosed you will find the proposed itinerary for November 5th, 2008. I extend my sincerest appologies for ruining any sort of credibility that you may have had. Let us all take a page from the Bill O’Reilly playbook, and take solace in the fact that credibility has never been an important factor to Republican success. I look forward to working with you in the future.

GOP Schedule for November 5th

  • Wake up, realize you are not dreaming.
  • Say something nice on TV.
  • Make attempts to rationalize and justify negative campaiging.
  • Get ripped apart by Keith Olberman
  • Find new job.

Your New Party President,

Sarah Palin

November 2, 2008 - 10:00pm

Today was a great day, and morale is really high. Despite the fact that many of the staffers haven’t slept at all in 48 hours, everyone has been totally re-energized since Western PA has gotten so much recent press, and McCain’s campaign has been flooding the area. Everyone is really excited for this thing to be over, but confidence is high and volunteers are supportive. There’s less than 48 hours until we won’t be able to do anything, but so much work lies in between now and then; but still, the light at the end of the tunnel is here, and we can see it.

Dear Friends,

Happy Halloween!

The scariest thing today for most folks will not be ghosts and ghouls, AIDS candy, or pedophiles, but the thought of another four years of Republican leadership at what has become the most haunted house in recent memory the White House. As much comfort as the polls can give, I still have never been this scared on Halloween. I’m sickened each time Sarah Palin takes the stage as thoughts of President Palin and being forced to live as a Christian Fundamentalist crowd my brain. With every lie that McCain spreads about how much he’ll help the middle class, I cringe. It’s scary that there are still at least 40% of people that really believe him, and that truly think he’s a better choice than Barack Obama; it’s insane. Joe the Plumber? Get the eff outta here. What kind of Mickey Mouse campaign are they running?

Friends, get up, get out, and make sure you vote on Election day. Take off work, get the kids a sitter, cut class, but damnit, get the vote out. Remember, all the momentum, all the hype, all that we’ve worked for over the last two…
