You know who’s living the American dream? Karl Rove, the original Joe the Plumber. Karl, I don’t have a college degree or any sort of objective experience to speak of, but have somehow landed a job as a political analyst despite being fired by several campaigns, doing myriads of unscrupulous deeds, and leading what many to consider to be the most unethical campaign ever, followed by serving as chief adviser to a man who even more refer to as the worst president ever, Rove. If you think your circumstances were hindering or your childhood life was bad, you’re wrong. Karl Rove’s were much, much worse. For most of his life, he erroneously believed the man who raised him was his biological father, only to find out upon leaving his mother on account of being homosexual that in fact he was his adoptive father. Twelve years later, his mother committed suicide. Guys like Karl Rove should inspire all Americans and reinforce that anyone can do anything, make lots of money, and have lots of people honestly believe they have something worthwhile to say, without having to start a cult.
But even Dio, who had his day in the sun, had to pass the torch, and so it’s time for Karl to follow suit. The dream is over, and the ride was nice. It made for some great Daily Show episodes, but has run its course; Karl Rove has no business making any comment on future American politics. Yet recently, Karl Rove stated that he was impressed with the make up of Obama’s economic advisory board. Considering Karl Rove has proven to be the anti-Midas, turning everything he touches into mud,…

Dear Friends,
Happy Halloween!
The scariest thing today for most folks will not be ghosts and ghouls, AIDS candy, or pedophiles, but the thought of another four years of Republican leadership at what has become the most haunted house in recent memory the White House. As much comfort as the polls can give, I still have never been this scared on Halloween. I’m sickened each time Sarah Palin takes the stage as thoughts of President Palin and being forced to live as a Christian Fundamentalist crowd my brain. With every lie that McCain spreads about how much he’ll help the middle class, I cringe. It’s scary that there are still at least 40% of people that really believe him, and that truly think he’s a better choice than Barack Obama; it’s insane. Joe the Plumber? Get the eff outta here. What kind of Mickey Mouse campaign are they running?
Friends, get up, get out, and make sure you vote on Election day. Take off work, get the kids a sitter, cut class, but damnit, get the vote out. Remember, all the momentum, all the hype, all that we’ve worked for over the last two…
If you take John McCain’s ideas about solving economic problems, roll them up into the last dollar you have stashed under your mattress, and then spark ‘em up using the glowing embers of whatever financial institution crashes and burns next, perhaps then, and only then, might your mind be so effed up to think there’s a real chance that his ‘tax cuts’ are going to help the middle classes and future generations. McCain asserts that he’ll grow wealth for Joe the Plumber, and amazingly, does it with a straight face. No, what’s really surprising and downright amazing is that people who ‘don’t trust big government’, willingly believe that John McCain is a magician who’ll make everyone as wealthy as he is! Then again, it’s only a lie by omission and being in denial is so much easier than facing the truth. McCain fails to remind you about the definition of wealth, who currently holds the wealth, and how it got there. Let’s explore.
Do you know what accumulating or growing wealth is? It’s not how much money you’re making today vs. tomorrow, and it’s not about how many jobs there are for you to work. It’s not about how well our economy is producing, and it’s not about the government spending less. Wealth is the accumulation of assets. It’s the net gain at the end of the year, how much you make from working, investments, existing assets and so on, minus how much you owe, the cost of living, cost of maintaining preexisting assets, etc. Furthermore, wealth is relative, not objective. Whereas income is easily measured, wealth is subjective and differs widely across cultures and regions.…
