As each nail is hammered into the coffin and each day that passes is one day closer to finally putting his ghastly campaign to rest, I wonder what ever other sane, rational person has been wondering, why are people still voting for John McCain? Here are the top five types of people that John McCain is banking on will STILL pull ‘Republican’ on Election Day

5. Xenophobic – According to the dictionary, those who are xenophobic exhibit an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange. These people fear any sort of change from the status quo. They aren’t racist per se, but they fear that which they do not know. For these people, Barack Obama is too far off the radar for reasonable choice. By running a campaign based on, “change you can believe in,” John McCain appeals to the rational side of this type of person which acknowledges change is desperately needed yet also allows the irrational side to be content with a more ‘normal’ politician. Everyone is a little xenophobic, but most people realize they are being irrational. By conjuring McCarthy-esque fear mongering, John McCain’s campaign has the goal of making it harder for you to realize the irrationality behind your xenophobia. A perfect example of a xenophobic McCain supporter would be that crazy lady who thinks that Obama is an Arab.

That’s right, rich people. No one feels bad for you.

To all the conservative-types who just happen to have money: the notion that Barack Obama’s “welfare” tax plan will be the end of America, liberty and capitalism as we know it is getting a little ridiculous.

Simply put-you have to pay to play. There’s no such thing as having your cake and eating it too. That’s for criminals. Unfortunately, far too many of these big shots that have crashed and burned in our latest economic debacle have been exactly that.

This idea that 95 percent of America wouldn’t have a pot to piss in without the top 5 percent, but not the other way around, is a complete fallacy. Does the bottom need the top? Of course. They create the jobs for the driving force of the economy. But the opposite is true as well, because someone has to do the jobs, right?

The top earners in the United States, the John McCains and Mitt Romneys of this world, are claiming that Obama’s “spread the wealth” approach is inherently socialist, punishing the rich for being successful and rewarding lazy good-for-nothings with their hard earned money.

In a ridiculously condescending article, author William Tucker writes that because people take family trips to Disney World and have air-conditioned homes that everyone seems to be doing alright. He continues: “In fact if the rich suffer at all today it is because what were once considered exclusive luxuries have become accessible to the masses.”

Barack Obama Cannot Be Trusted!

For anyone who may have missed this, above is a link to a clip from a McCain rally in Minnesota from last week. The idea expressed by the woman at the end is not a new one. Barack Obama’s name is one of many handicaps that he’s had to deal with along the campaign trail for the last two years or so.  We’ve never had a president with an “ethnic sounding” name. Many people seem to be uneasy with the name Barack Hussein Obama regardless of how they feel about his policies.

Here’s the interesting part in my eyes. The rambling, stuttering, ill-conceived statements of this red-white-and-blue-blooded American and McCain’s response was as follows:

Woman: “I can’t trust Obama…I’ve read about him…He’s an Arab.”

McCain: “No ma’am. He’s a decent family man, citizen that I just happen to have disagreements with on fundamental issues, and that’s what this campaign is all about.”

We can see that ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAS CHANGED in this country. Just as Russian equaled communist in the 80s, Arab is now synonymous with terrorist. McCain’s response, which I find abhorrent, just feeds the fire because it seems to acknowledge that were Barack Obama an Arab or of Arab descent, you would be well within your right not to trust him.

This should act as a red flag to all the ridiculously naive political analysts on television and online pundits who think that race is not much of a factor in this election. Hogwash, I say. Riddle Me This, Cindy.

I’m not sure who wrote this, but I received it in an e-mail the other day. After John McCain’s seemingly racist disdain and commentary offered to Barack Obama last night and Cindy McCain’s claim today that Barack is running the dirtiest campaign in history, I thought it appropriate to share. While reading the following, think hard about how race plays a part in this election.

What if Barack Obama finished fifth from the bottom of his graduating
class?

What if McCain were still married to the first woman he said “I do” to?

What if Obama were the candidate who left his first wife after she no
longer measured up to his standards?

What if Michelle Obama were a wife who not only became addicted to pain
killers, but acquired them illegally through her charitable organization?

What if Cindy McCain graduated from Harvard?

What if Obama were a member of the Keating-5*?

What if McCain were a charismatic, eloquent speaker?

If these questions reflected reality, do you really believe the election
numbers would be as close as they are?

This is what racism does.  It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes
positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in
another when there is a color difference.
